Donald R. Williams 66, of County Route 53, Watertown, died Tuesday evening at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Williams was born July 8, 1942 in Watertown to Clarence E. and Reda Rose Williams. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1960. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1961 and served a total of 22 years active and reserves. Mr. Williams was a mechanic at Northrup Motors, Quick Motors and Kittle Ford before becoming Director of Logistics at Fort Drum from 1977-1989. He later worked for GSA on Fort drum as fleet manager until his retirement in 2002.

Watertown – Dr. J. Blair Harff, 46, of 26151 Co. Rte. 160, died Sunday morning after a farming accident at his home. Born April 13th, 1962, in New York City, he graduated from Colgate University in 1984 and in 1988 received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. In 1998, together with his wife, Nina, also a graduate of Cornell University, he opened The Animal Doctors Veterinary Clinic after a previous association with the Watertown Animal Hospital.
A celebration of Blair’s life will be held at the couple’s home on Co. Rte. 160 this Thursday afternoon from 4 -6 pm. All those who would like to pay their respects to the family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Watertown Hockey Association, PO Box 371, Watertown, NY 13601. The money will be used for future ice improvements, additions and youth hockey programs.

A prayer service will be Thursday 12:15pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 1pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Richard Kennedy, officiating. Marie L. Augustus, 90, formerly of Outer Bradley St. Rd., and widow of Clyde E. Augustus, died Sunday in Clinton, NC where she had resided since 2000.

Harley Edwin Watson, 75, of 336 W. Main St., Curtis Apts., passed away at his home under the loving care of his children and Jefferson County Hospice on Wednesday, October 3, 2007.
Harley loved crossword puzzles, Tuesday night movies, bingo, monthly sing-a-longs where he played his 1950 Gibson guitar and his nightly card game with his friends. He was especially proud of his time spent at the Jefferson Rehabilitation Center where, in addition to his job as a bus driver, he devoted endless hours of his own time working with the clients on talent and Christmas shows. Whether family, friends or strangers, he always shared his smile and good nature with all he met. His willingness to do for others, no matter how large or small the favor, was his everlasting gift to those who knew him.
A memorial service will be Saturday, 3pm at the Reed and Benoit Funeral Home in Watertown. Calling hours are Saturday from 1p – 3pm at the funeral home. His ashes will be scattered with his wife, Noreen, at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, Harley’s family requests that those who loved and cared for him make donations in his name to the Syracuse VA Hospital or Jefferson County Hospice, 425 Washington St., Watertown, NY 13601.
