Harold D. Kidder

Harold D. Kidder Harold D. Kidder 77, of 206 State St., died Saturday morning at his home while under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mr. Kidder was born November 2, 1930 in Copenhagen to Raymond S. and Ruth A. Dietrich Kidder. He attended school in Copenhagen. Mr. Kidder worked on the family farm until 1952. He later worked for National Biscuit Company, Wickes Lumber, and White’s Lumber. Retiring from Wickes Lumber in 1991 after 10 years of employment.

He married Ethel May Forbes Jan 12, 1952. The marriage ended in divorce.

Surviving are two sons and their wives Dwight H. and Eileen and Edward G. and Sherry, all of Watertown. Two daughters, Rebecca E. Palmisano, Weymouth, MA

and Diane and Marvin Micek, Watertown. Two brothers Sterling, Copenhagen, and George, Fulton, NY, two sisters, Elsie Parker, Uncasville, CT. and Carolyn LaClair, Limerick. Seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A brother, Ralph, and a sister, Marie Farber, died before him.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 A.M. at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Rev. Stephen Crandall, officiating. Burial will be in the South Rutland (Tylerville) Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 P.M. – 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. – 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
