Donald Ray Cronk The memorial service for Donald Ray Cronk will be Friday 11am at the Faith Fellowship Church 131 Moore Ave. with Rev. Michael Bartholomew, pastor officiating. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the Faith Fellowship Christian School, 131 Moore Ave., Watertown, NY 13601. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.

Mr. Cronk, 61, of Flower Ave. East, died Saturday March 8th at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY following a brief illness. At the time of his passing, Mr. Cronk had been serving as School Principal of Faith Fellowship Christian School and Associate Pastor of Faith Fellowship Church since 2001.

He was born March 31, 1946 in Watertown, a son of Erwin and Thelma Barnes Cronk. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1964 where he lettered in football for 4 years and was part of the undefeated football team of 1962. After graduating from high school, he earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in Teaching from SUNY Brockport in 1968.

Mr. Cronk taught at the Academy St. School from 1969 – 1971. He taught SEEK education at Wiley School from 1971 until his retirement from the Watertown School District in 2001.

Mr. Cronk joined the Army Reserves in 1969 and trained at Fort Knox, KY. He served for 7 years. He owned and operated the Jreck Subs franchise in Clayton from 1978 – 1992. He married Donna Percy in 1969 at Bethany United Methodist Church.

Besides his wife and mother, both of Watertown, he is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen and Tricia, and Jeffrey, all of Phoenix, AZ. A daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Troy Matteson, Rodman. 5 grandchildren, Seth, Lauren and Reagan Cronk, Mikayla and Joshua Matteson. 2 brothers, Phillip, Watertown, Michael, Summerville, SC.. Nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, storytelling, camping, fishing and hunting, horseshoes and Bocce ball.
