Hernan R. Gonzalez

A prayer service for Hernan R. Gonzalez will be Thursday 10:15 am at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 11am at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Wednesday from 2p – 4pm and 7p – 9pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Holy Family Church Memorial Fund, 129 Winthrop St., Watertown, NY 13601.

Mr. Gonzalez, 67, of 323 No. Indiana Ave., died Sunday at the Samaritan Medical Center. Mr. Gonzalez was employed by Fishercast for 38 years and was the Purchasing Manager when he retired. He attended Jefferson Community College taking several courses over the years. He owned and operated several rental units throughout the city.

He was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, May 19, 1941, a son of Catalino and Margot Robles Gonzalez. He was educated in Ponce’, Puerto Rico. He served with the US Army from 1959 – 1965.

Mr. Gonzalez was a member of Holy Family Church and was an active volunteer in the church and school. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 61. He enjoyed computers and building model toys.

He married Lois Saber, October 21, 1961 in Star Lake.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Richard, Watertown, Gregory, Minneapolis, MN. A daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mark Breuer, Watertown. 5 grandchildren. A sister, Joseylene (Julio) Lucca, and a brother Richard, all of Ponce’, PR. Several nieces and nephews.
