George E. Richardson

George E. Richardson, 88, of 1101 Gotham St., died 12:15 am Wednesday morning at his home where he had been under the care of Hospice for 6 days.

Mr. Richardson was a thermometer assembler at Faichney Instrument, which later became Chesebrough Ponds, retiring after 42 years of service.

He was born in Watertown, February 2, 1920, a son of Howard A. and Gertrude Little Richardson. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1938. He married Helene M. LaJuett at Stone St. Presbyterian Church, Watertown, November 6, 1943 with the bride’s brother Robert LaJuett and her sister, Mrs. Stanley Buszak

Mr. Richardson enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and sketches of people.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a niece, Sharon S. Steinhofer, Watertown. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter H. in 1953 and his sister, Mildred Steinhofer in 1988.

The funeral will be Friday 1pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Smith, pastor of Stone Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 2p – 4pm and 6p – 8pm at the funeral home.
