Elizabeth Ann Majak

Elizabeth Ann Majak, 58, Harris Dr., died Friday morning at the Samaritan Medical Center. She had been ill with cancer.

Miss Majak a Home Economics teacher with the Oneida County BOCES at New York Mills School and other Utica area schools for many years until recently retiring due to ill health. She had resided in New Hartford for many years.

She was born in Watertown, April 13, 1950, a daughter of Stanley and Margaret Bull Majak. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1968. She continued her education, graduating from Jefferson Community College in 1970 and receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Plattsburg State in 1972. While teaching full time, Miss Majak continued her education receiving her masters in education from Potsdam State in 1982.

Miss Majak was a member of the New York State Teachers Association and was involved with 4-H from age 8 until age 18.

Besides her parents of Watertown, she is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Walter and Kristine Majak, Watertown. Two nephews; Kristopher and his wife Carolyn (Gebo) Majak, Charlotte, NC and Andrew Majak, Watertown. Her uncle, Lloyd Bull, Glenfield. Many cousins.

The funeral will be Sunday 2pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Duthie, pastor of the Rutland Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Rutland Center. Calling hours are Sunday from 12 noon until 2pm at the funeral home.
