Geraldine V. Brockway Geraldine V. Brockway, 81, formerly of Green St. and widow of Lawrence G. Brockway, died December 30th at the Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage, Ca. She had suffered a stroke on Christmas Day while vacationing in Palm Springs, Ca.

Mrs. Brockway was a school bus driver in Malone and later with Freeman Bus Co. in Watertown retiring in the early 1980’s.

She was born January 20, 1926 in Malone, a daughter of Albert and Delia Brown Nason. She was educated in Malone schools. She married Richard Rouseau in Malone prior to his deployment to Europe in WW II, where he died in action. She married Lawrence G. Brockway December 1, 1945 at Notre Dame Church in Malone. They resided in Malone until 1970 when Mr. Brockway, who was employed by Sears, was transferred to Watertown. Mr. Brockway died November 23rd, 2004.

Upon her retirement, she traveled yearly during the winter to visit relatives in California. She was a member of the Black River Fiddlers and enjoyed going to bingo.

She is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Chris Devito, Watertown, and Linda Brockway, with whom she resided, Watertown. 2 sisters-in-law, Norma Brockway, Constable, and Yvette Nason of Malone. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter at birth, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

There will be no calling hours or funeral. Burial of her cremains will be in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Covington. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
