Services for Gerald A. Peck, Sr. will be held in the spring at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
Mr. Peck, 86, formerly of Watertown, died Tuesday at Highland Hospital in Rochester.
He was born October 3, 1921 in Great Bend, a son of Guy and Ella Hayes Peck. He graduated from Copenhagen High School in 1938. He served with the US Army during WW II. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Mr. Peck was employed by the Agricultural Insurance Co. in Watertown for 26 years. He later went to work for the Jefferson County Highway Department in the parts department retiring in 1983.
He married Geneva Alice Jardin July 7, 1941 in the parsonage of the Rutland Church. Mrs. Peck died November 23, 2003.
Mr. Peck was a Red Cross blood donor for many years.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Eugene Smith, Watertown. 2 sons and their wives, Thomas and Sandra, Arizona, Gerald Jr. and Linda, Webster. 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. 2 sisters, Betty Bartlett, Watertown and Irene Paul, Clayton. Several nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Lucinda Smith and a sister, Lois Jones predeceased him.
