Earl N. Rice

Earl N. Rice, 86, formerly of 843 Cooper St., died Wednesday evening at Mercy of Northern New York where he had resided since November of 2003.

Mr. Rice worked in the foundry at Black Clawson for many years retiring in the late 1970’s.

He was born in Watertown, August 6, 1921, a son of Earl C. and Irene Mathott Rice. He was educated in local schools. He married Natalie Fluno, July 17, 1941 in Watertown. She died January 26, 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing mechanic work on cars.

He is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Joan and Donald Ogborn, Dexter, Carolyn and Danny Dasno, Evans Mills. 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 2 sons and a daughter predeceased him. James N., age 2 in 1943, Richard N., age 47 in 1993, and Linda M., age 56, died on December 20, 2007.

The funeral will be Saturday 3 pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday from 1pm – 3 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
