Evelyn D. Parks The funeral for Evelyn D. Parks will be Saturday 11am at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Bruce Chapman officiating. Spring burial will be in Union Cemetery, Adams Center. Calling hours are Friday from 5pm – 9pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Parks, 87, formerly of Liverpool and Watertown, died Monday in New Baltimore, Michigan.

She was born on the family farm in Sackets Harbor, June 15, 1920, a daughter of Victor J. and Reta Pattingill Phelps. Prior to WW II, she worked for the Veterans Administration in Watertown. She married Earle F. Parks August 10, 1940 at North Bangor. During Mr. Parks military duty, the couple moved to Texas where she worked for the American Red Cross.

Following Mr. Parks discharge from the military, he went to work for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. of Buffalo. Mr. and Mrs. Parks lived in Watertown, Rochester, Tonawanda and lastly to Liverpool in 1975. Mrs. Parks was a legal secretary for many years retiring in 1986. Following their retirement, they enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. Mr. Parks, a retired district manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., died March 28, 2002 in Syracuse.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and David Boik, New Baltimore, Michigan. Her daughter-in-law, Mollie Parks, Liverpool. 2 granddaughters, Megan (Brad) Atkin and Abigail Johnson. Her son Gary died in 2006.
