Edith B. Eveleigh

Edith B. Eveleigh, 89, of St. Lawrence Park Rd., and formerly of Black River, died Wednesday, January 2nd at River Hospital in Alexandria Bay.

Mrs. Eveleigh was a professional hairdresser.

She was born January 10th, 1918 in the village of Black River, a daughter of Fred and Grace Fuller Paige. She married Reginald D. Eveleigh on October 23, 1948 in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Eveleigh died January 9, 2007.

Mrs. Eveleigh loved the St. Lawrence River, fishing cooking and gardening. She also worked at Eveleigh Liquors.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and caregivers. She was predeceased by a brother, Stewart Paige and 2 sisters, Fern Spencer and Dorothy Burrows.

The funeral will be Monday 1pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Gates, pastor of the Life Church of the Nazarene, Watertown, officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
