Thomas David Strickland

Thomas David Strickland, 37, of Keyser WV, a native of Watertown, died January 2nd at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. He had been ill with Melanoma cancer for 8 years.
Mr. Strickland was employed with the Westvaco Luke Mill in Keyser for several years.
He was born November 29, 1970 in Watertown, a son of Thomas and Penelope Ann Ashwood Strickland. He was educated in local schools. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being with his friends. A marriage ended in divorce.
Besides his parents of Watertown, he is survived by a daughter, Carlie D. and a son Thomas D., Jr., both of Keyser. A brother, Christopher M., Watertown. A sister, Lisa Grieco, Watertown. His maternal grandparents, Paul and Dorothy Ashwood, Adams. An aunt, Elsie Fournier and an uncle, Donald Pfister, both of Watertown. 2 nieces and 1 nephew. His paternal grandparents, Lewis and Corrie Strickland predeceased him.
A memorial service will be Thursday 7pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Gilcash, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church, officiating. Inurnment was in the Potomac Memorial Gardens Chapel, Keyser. A calling hour will be Thursday from 6p – 7pm at the funeral home.
