Marlyn B. Petrucelli

Marlyn B. Petrucelli, 81, formerly of Watertown and Carthage, died January 31st in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Mrs. Petrucelli taught Vocal Music and Kindergarten in the Carthage Central School system for 31 years retiring in 1981.

She was born September 25, 1926 in Watertown, a daughter of Walter G. and Gladys M. Fox Benedict of Pulaski. She graduated from Pulaski Central School. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Crane School of Music at Potsdam and her Master’s degree in Education at SUNY Potsdam.

She married Thomas R. Petrucelli July 6, 1952 at the Church of the Resurrection, Rye, NY. Mr. Petrucelli, a retired music teacher in the Carthage School sister, died October 2, 2004.

Mrs. Petrucelli was a member of the New York State Retired Teacher’s Association and a past member of St. James Catholic Church, Carthage. Mr. and Mrs. Petrucelli spent 27 summers at “The Elms” on Henderson Bay.

She is survived by her sister, Beverly McAvoy of Florida, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Emma Louise Dolan and Hazel Benedict.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at Sculpture Springs Cemetery, Town of Hounsfield. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
