Linda M. Rice

Linda M. Rice, 56, of 847 Leray St., died Thursday morning at the Samaritan Medical Center where she was a patient for one week. She had been ill with cancer for over 2 years.

Miss Rice was a licensed practical nurse at Mercy Hospital and the Samaritan Medical Center for many years retiring in 1994.

She was born in Watertown, July 24, 1951, a daughter of Earl and Natalie Fluno Rice. She graduated from Watertown High School and the Jefferson Community College Nursing Program.

Miss Rice was a communicant of both St. Patrick’s and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church’s. She enjoyed making jewelry, scrapbooking and crafts.

Besides her father of Watertown, she is survived by 2 sisters and their husbands, Joan and Donald Ogborn, Dexter, Carolyn and Danny Dasno, Evans Mills. 3 nieces and 2 nephews. 2 brothers Richard and James and her mother predeceased her.

The funeral will be Saturday 4pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday from 2p – 4pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
