James C. Eastman The funeral service and burial for James C. Eastman 64, of 111 Lilac Park Drive, will be at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be Thursday 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.

Mr. Eastman died Monday morning in an industrial accident at the Hanson Quarry on Route 3 in the Town of Pamelia.

He was born August 27, 1943 in Watertown the son of Charles and Edith Chrisman, Eastman. He attended Belleville Central School and worked on his father dairy farm for a few years. He was a heavy equipment operator for Eastman Corporation in Ellisburg for twelve years, worked for Tug Hill Construction of Watertown for twenty five years, and other construction companies retiring in 2007. At the time of his death he was working part time with Morgan Williams Construction in Belleville.

He married his companion of twenty six years, Loretta Miller Mesler on March 7, 2008. Two previous marriages ended in divorce.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta; 3 sons, Jamie and his fiancé Diane Miller of Mannsville, Ralph of Ellisburg, Russell and Michele of Belleville; a daughter, Kimberly and her fiancé Chris Lee of Pulaski; 3 step-daughters and husbands, Tammy and Miles Forbes of Buffalo, Tina and Ronald Majerus of Mexico, Terri and Perry Phillips of Pierrepont Manor; a step-son and his wife, Todd and Jessica Mesler of Mannsville; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Willis Green of Belleville, Beverly Ann Eastman of Ellisburg; nephews, cousins and one Aunt.

He enjoyed working in his shop (mancave), watching NASCAR, spending time with his grandson Logan and step-grandchildren, his morning coffee at the diner with his friends and his work as a heavy equipment operator.
