The funeral service for Floyd K. Hagan 97, of 225 Lorraine St., will be 11:00AM Monday at the Zion Episcopal Church in Pierrepont Manor with Rev. Charles Henderson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Mannsville.
Calling hours will be 4:00 to 7:00PM Sunday at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
Mr. Hagan died Monday morning in the Samaritan Medical Center where he was admitted on April 8th.
He was born March 8, 1911 in the Town of Ellisburg, the son of Samuel W. and Vera Balch, Hagan. He graduated from Sandy Creek Central High School in June of 1930. He married Ruth Wylde April 4, 1936 in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Adams with Rev. Cecil Taylor officiating.
He operated a milk delivery route in the South Jefferson area along with his dairy farm operation from which he retired in 1965. He worked at the McAdam Milk Plant in Adams later known as the Dairylea Milk Plant, and he drove school bus for Mannsville Manor Central School before his retirement.
He was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church in Pierrepont Manor and served on the vestry for almost 40 years. He was a former member of the local Boy Scout troop, the Elks club, the Mannsville Manor Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was a Past Master of Local Grange #16 in Mannsville.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of 72 years; 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Roberta and Paul Evans of Potsdam, and Patricia and Ronald Schilpp of Mahopac; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Samuel and Bonnie of Mannsville, and David (D.V.M.) and Linda of Chambersburg, PA; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Louise H. Allen of Pulaski; and a nephew.
He enjoyed bowling, gardening, raising flowers and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
