Decima A. Homs

Decima A. Homs 93, of 12069 Torrey Hill Road, died Friday morning, at the home of her great-niece and husband, Diane and Gregory Lake.
She was born October 27, 1914 in Ellenburg Center, a daughter of Andrew Biker and Eva Mae Curry Scofield. She graduated from Beacon High School in Beacon, NY.
She married Ruben Homs in Beacon on March 27, 1950, the couple lived in Beacon until their retirement at which time they moved to 277 Church St., Isle LaMotte, Vermont. Her husband died January 1991, in August of 2007 she moved to Ellisburg to live with her great-niece and be closer to family.
She is survived by a sister, Alberta B. Tompkins of Chateaugay; 8 nieces and nephews, Muriel Harvey of Porters Corners, Arnold Lasell of Pierrepont Manor, Eva Mae Ellwell of Tucson, AZ, Larry Hoyt of Elizaville, Robert Lasell of Porters Corners, Lawrence Lasell Sandy Creek, Margaret Williams of Humble, TX, and Barbara Miller, address unknown, and many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters Irene Lasell and Mae Bernier, 2 nephews, Richard Lasell and George Hoyt, and a niece, Patricia Bentley.
She was a member of the Rebeccah’s and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet until macular degeneration took her sight.
There will be no funeral service and no calling hours, following cremation, interment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot.
