Orrin W. Heath

Orrin W. Heath Orrin W. Heath 92, formerly of 9011 Route 178, died Friday morning in the Samaritan Keep Home where he had been a resident for 1 year.

He was born March 21, 1915 in the Town of Rodman, a son of Orrin N. and Susanna Cagwin, Heath. He was a 1932 graduate of Adams Center High School. After completing high school he started working at the family cheese factory in the Town of Rodman. He served with the Army during World War II, and returned home to continue the family business of making cheese with his brother Malcolm.

He married Catherine Wight September 14, 1961 in Belleville, at the home of Rev. Miles Hutchinson. Following their marriage they lived in Henderson and Mr. Heath continued operating the cheese factory until it closed in January of 1980. Mrs. Heath died February 2, 2003.

He is survived by 2 step daughters, Sally and John Munson of Lacona, and Betsy Murphy of Watertown; 3 sisters, Cartha E. Gaebel, Emogene L. Heath and Gladene H. Jesmer all of Watertown; a sister-in-law, Vola Heath of Clark Summit, PA; 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Malcolm and William, and a sister Addie Heath.

He enjoyed playing bingo, cards and socializing with family and friends.

The funeral service will be 2:00PM Monday at the Carpenter – Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville with Rev. Linda Tabor of the Cedar Mountain Ministries officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Roberts Corners. A calling hour will be 1:00 to 2:00PM Monday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
