James G. Ingold

James G. Ingold, 88, of Canonsburg, PA, died Tuesday May 8th at his home.

Mr. Ingold was employed by Fort Pitt Bridge Works, Banbury Corporation, and McGraw Edison Corporation in Canonsburg until his retirement.

He was born in Altoona, PA, October 1, 1918, a son of Frederick and Ella Hannah Goon Ingold. He served with the US Army in the European / African Theatre of Operations receiving 2 Purple Hearts for wounds received in action.

Mr. Ingold was a member of various organizations in Canonsburg to include the VFW Post #191, the Eagles Club, American Legion Post # 902 and the Disabled American Veterans.

He married Lois Emily Reimer September 16, 1950. She predeceased him.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Lane, Henderson. 2 sons, James W., Honduras and Frederick “Fritz, of Canonsburg. Eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren. A sister, Elizabeth Klein, Levittown, Pa. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Jonathan Lane. Three brothers, Elmer, Frederick, and Melvin Ingold and two sisters, Elmira Miller and Helen Young also predeceased him.

The funeral will be Saturday 11am at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Henderson. Calling hours are Friday from 7p – 9pm at the funeral home.
