Clifford E. Cool May 5, 2007

Clifford E. Cool Clifford E. Cool 69, of 738 Cottage Park Lane, Leesburg, FL, died Friday evening, at his property at Crystal Lake. He had been in ill health for the past 6 months.

He was born May 13, 1937 in Black River, a son of Donald and Margaret Bowman, Cool. He was a 1955 graduate of Adams High School, and graduated from Cornell University in 1959. He married Penelope Jane Pelton September 8, 1956 at the Adams United Methodist Church with Rev. George Butler officiating.

Following graduation from Cornell he served with the Air Force for 8 years, and in 1967 he started his career as an Airline Pilot with Pan American Airways and then with Delta Airlines, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the South Jefferson Memorial V.F.W. Post 5344, the Don Rounds American Legion Post 586, and one of the original members of “The Friday Night Group”.

He is survived by his wife, Penelope; 2 sons, Scott G. of New York City, and William E. and his wife Sharon of Peachtree City, GA; 2 grandsons, Christopher and Michael also of Peachtree City, GA; 2 brothers, Leonard of Oswego and Orlando, FL, and Gerald of Webster, NC. He was predeceased by a sister, Janet who died in infancy.

He was an avid golfer and was in one of the first groups to play at the original Tomacy’s Golf Course in Adams at the invitation of then owner Al Thomas. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, and after retirement, building and flying model airplanes.

A graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Adams Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours, the body will be cremated.
