Annie J. Jennings 91 of Riverbend Drive died Tuesday morning in the Samaritan Medical Center where she was transferred from the Samaritan Keep Home earlier in the day. She had been a resident of Samaritan Keep Home since March of this year.
She was born July 1, 1916, in the Town of Henderson, a daughter of Samuel and Annie Fry, Tiller. She was a graduate of the Union Academy of Belleville. She married Joseph Perry in 1943, he died in 1952. She was married to Albert Porter of Adams, he died in the 1960’s. Mrs. Jennings was employed at Smith and Percy’s, the Globe Store, and as the sportsware buyer for Empsall’s Department Store. She retired in 1972 following her marriage to Glen Jennings, Sr. on December 29, 1972.
The couple lived on Log London Road in the Town of Ellisburg for several years before moving to the Watertown area in the 1980’s. Mr. Jennings died July 16, 1996. Mrs. Jennings enjoyed working outside in her yard and gardening
She is survived by a daughter, Joann Meredith of Adams Center; a step-daughter, Donna Quinta of Mannsville; a sister, Lillian Lattimer of Pulaski; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, David; a stepson, Glen Jennings, Jr.; 2 sisters, Hilda Russell and Nellie Burdick; and a brother, James Tiller.
The funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Burial will be in Adams Rural Cemetery. A calling hour will be 10:00 to 11:00AM Saturday prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
