Richard V. VanBrocklin

A graveside service for Richard V. VanBrocklin 73, of 7342 NYS Route 289, will be at the convenience of the family, in Woodside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Carpenter-Stoodley funeral home.
Mr. VanBrocklin died Monday morning in the Samaritan Medical Center where he was admitted on August 7th.
Born July 26, 1934 in Belleville, a son of Grant and Vera Downer, VanBrocklin, he attended Belleville Central School. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955, after his discharge from the Navy, he married Donna Bacon October 2, 1955 in the Ellisburg Methodist Church with Rev. Budd officiating. They have lived in the Belleville area all their married lives. He worked for the Iron Workers Local #60 out of Syracuse for 30 years retiring in 1990. He also worked 3 years with the green thumb program at the Sackets Harbor battlefield.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; 2 daughters and their husbands, Terry and Mark Simonton of Adams, and Tina and Ken Vance of Sackets Harbor; 2 sons, Thomas and his companion, Tammy McCargar of Henderson, and Tracy and his wife, Alison of Woodville; 9 grandchildren; his mother, Vera VanBrocklin of Belleville; and a sister, Neva Colwell of Daytona, Fl.; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Charles G. VanBrocklin.
Mr. VanBrocklin enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, snowmobiling, and summers spent at their camp on Crystal Lake in the Town of Henderson.
