Leo H. McIntosh

Leo H. McIntosh, Jr. 53, of 12001 NYS Route 178, died Sunday morning in University Hospital, Syracuse. He suffered a stroke while in Canton, and was transferred from the Potsdam Hospital to University Hospital on Saturday evening.
Mr. McIntosh was born September 29, 1953 in Watertown, the son of Leo H. and Beverly Sanford, McIntosh, Sr. He graduated from Sandy Creek Central School. Following graduation he started working for Ken Harris at his decoy shop on Route 3, in the Town of Ellisburg. He started his own Decoy carving business, called Stony Creek Decoys in 1977. It was located on the Corner of Route 3 and the Benton Road also in the Town of Ellisburg.
He married Susan Hess June 16, 1978 in the Town of Ellisburg at Lake View Pond, with the former Town Justice Thomas Ferguson officiating. He moved to his present home on Route 178 in 1996 and continued to operate his business from his home.
He enjoyed doing oil paintings of wild life birds, as well as other animals.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly McIntosh of Adams, and Cory and Gerald B. Van Guilder, Jr. of Vernon, CT; his mother Beverly Curran of Chaumont; 2 sisters, Peggy Roberts of Bennezette, PA, and Connie Smith of Syracuse; 3 nieces and a nephew.
A graveside service, at the convenience of the family, will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Henderson. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
